Massage

This is the use of oils and/or creams combined with various manual techniques performed through touch, to increase blood flow which will enable  toxins to be flushed through the body and the area to be refilled with nutrients and oxygen to promote repair.

Manual Dry Needling

This is a technique where thin needles are inserted into the tissue. When the needle is inserted into the tissue it sends a signal to the brain saying that the area it is in needs to be repaired.

The brain then sends nutrients and oxygen to the site which then in turn helps repair the tissue and bring its state back to normal.

Corrective exercise

In order to enhance the soft tissue treatment, exercises are prescribed to strengthen, activate and help to correct any postural or biomechanical dysfunction.

These exercises consist of small to large movements that slowly progress in difficulty as the muscle begins to change/adapt.

Cupping

This is an ancient Chinese therapy which uses a plastic or glass cup that is applied to the skin after the pressure is reduced in the cup by either heat or suction.

The suction from the cups increases blood flow to the affected areas to promote tissue repair and bring the tissue back to normal.

Cupping can be performed using a static method, where the cups are placed strategically and not moved or another method that involves moving the cups dynamically, along the indented muscle or area to give more of a deeper treatment.

Tens Machine

This is a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator. It is a portable box with electrical wires that is applied via sticky pads.

It sends stimulated currents through the pads to the effected muscle and helps to reduce pain and/or increase muscle contraction to increase muscle strength.

At the right setting the stimulation can block the pain signals through tiny electrical shocks which cause fewer signals from the source of the pain.
